Disco fever is hitting the Philharmonie de Paris with the special exhibition “Disco, I’m Coming Out,” from February 14 to August 17, 2025. It’s open Tuesday to Sunday from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m., with extended hours on Friday (12 p.m.–9 p.m.) and Saturday (10 a.m.–9 p.m.). The entrance fee is €12 for adults and free for those under 18 and certain other categories. A true dive into the flamboyant world of disco, this immersive exhibition traces the history of this major musical and cultural movement, born in the Afro-American, Latin, and LGBTQ+ communities of the 1970s, and that became an artistic and social revolution.
Through a dynamic scenography, the exhibition takes you into legendary clubs like Studio 54 and Paradise Garage, surrounded by disco balls, sequined costumes, dance floors, and captivating sounds. The musical atmosphere, specially created by Dimitri from Paris, accompanies visitors throughout the journey, which unfolds in four main sections: the origins of disco in funk and soul, the emergence of a festive and activist culture, its explosion in the ’70s and ’80s, and its lasting legacy in today’s music, fashion, and social movements.
Hosted in the Exhibition Space of the Philharmonie, at 221 avenue Jean-Jaurès in the 19th arrondissement of Paris, the exhibition is accessible to all—whether you're a music enthusiast, a pop culture fan, or simply curious for a sensory experience.
From Hotel 15 Montparnasse (153 Rue de Vaugirard, Paris 15th), take metro line 6 at Pasteur station (towards Nation), change at Place d’Italie to line 5 (towards Bobigny – Pablo Picasso), and get off at Porte de Pantin station. The Philharmonie is just a few minutes’ walk away, in the heart of Parc de la Villette.
“Disco, I’m Coming Out” is more than just an exhibition – it’s a celebration of freedom, self-expression, and the collective power of the party.
